Appointment of new non-judicial Board member

The Commission welcomes Louise McCosker as a newly appointed non-judicial Board member. Non-judicial Board members are persons of high standing in the community and bring a unique non-judicial perspective to the Commission.

Louise has been appointed by the Governor in Council for a 5 year term and brings a range of skills to the role, including extensive experience in humanitarian, corporate, government and communications sectors. 

A former executive producer of current affairs radio at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Louise has since worked for nearly twenty years with the International Red Cross Movement in a variety of senior roles in communications, humanitarian diplomacy, coordination and management and in a number of countries including Australia, Indonesia, Switzerland, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Ukraine and Syria. 

Louise was appointed after an open recruitment process that attracted a large and diverse field of candidates.
